Bilberry is a perennial shrub that has long been used throughout Holland, Germany and Scandinavia. Numerous clinical studies suggest that bilberry contains active ingredients which help maintain proper eye function. Bilberries are particulary rich in the red pigment antioxidants called anthocyanosides. Studies have revealed that the anthocyanosides bind to capillaries and help maintain their integrity.
