Our body is unable to utilize large molecules, therefore nature has created an elaborate system of digestion. Digestion is accomplished through the mechanical and chemical break down of food into smaller and smaller molecules. This involves exposure to acidic pH conditions in the stomach followed by the exposure to alkaline intestinal fluids in the gastrointestinal tract. Various enzymes participate throughout the digestion process over a wide range of pH. Finally, we are able to absorb nutrition from food. Olympian Labs has formulated a multi-enzyme blend that assists in the digestion of food and may improve the assimilation of nutrients. This formulation is designed to be effective over a wide range of pH 3.0-9.0, thus working continuously through out the pH variations in the digestive gastrointestinal tract. • Amylases are designed to breakdown starches. Starches contain many sugar molecules in a chain linked with alpha and beta linkage. These long chain molecules need to be broken at both alpha and beta linkages in the starch molecule for better absorption by the body. OL-767 contains both alpha and beta amylases. • Four different plant proteases are uniquely mixed to optimize the maximum digestion of proteins from various sources such as meat, soy, milk or vegetable proteins in the various pH ranges of the body’s digestion system. Every protease has a different optimum pH and when one protease tapers off, another protease takes over, thus reducing the peaks and valleys and resulting in a most effective digestion of proteins. • Peptizyme SP® is an Exo peptidase and is very helpful in breaking the peptides formed during the digestion of proteins into readily available amino acids. This significantly enhances the digestion, absorption and bioavailability of amino acids. • Lactase helps to break down milk sugar lactose. Approximately, 10% of the population is lactose intolerant. Lactose is a milk sugar that often leads to upset stomach. Lactase enzyme helps to reduce this problem. • Some people cannot digest foods with cellulytic content (high fiber and fruit skins). This results in the build-up of gastric gases. The cellulase enzyme in our blend relieves this problem. • HemiSeb® contains a special blend of Xylanase, Beta-glucanases, phytase and other hemicellulases. These enzymes reduce the viscosity of foods in the stomach and resulting in better absorption and bioavailability of nutrients. • Maltase and Sucrase are added to digest extra sweets and simple sugars. • Two different Lipases similarly break down the different fats from foods that we eat.
