CLARY SAGE OIL
Latin Name: Salvia sclarea
Origin & History: Clary Sage pure essential oil is produced through the steam distillation of the flowering tops
of the plant. It is grown in Morocco, England, France and throughout the Mediterranean. Clary Sage was once one
of the most valued herbs used for stomach disorders, infertility and various nervous conditions. In Latin 'clary'
means clear eye. The herb was so named because it made a soothing, healing eye lotion. Clary Sage has been used
for meditation and spiritual communication and the ancients considered it an oil of protection and psychic insight.
Clary Sage has been used for stress relief and as a sedative. It helps to promote hair growth and is effective in the
relief of acne and inflammation. Clary Sage rejuvenates the cells and is uplifting for the spirits. It is known to
contain an estrogen-like hormone so it may be useful in the relief of the symptoms of PMS, such as menstrual pain
and cramps, and in the relief of menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes. Clary Sage stimulates the adrenals so
it greatly alleviates stress and is effective against nervous exhaustion.
Suggested Use: Massage, baths. A few drops of Clary Sage Oil in the bath helps to soothe backaches, pains,
sprains, cramps, bad moods and dry, itchy skin leaving you feeling more relaxed and energized. Clary Sage Oil
will help to banish headaches and tension when used as a massage oil on the face, neck and scalp.
Caution: Clary Sage Oil is safe for home but must be well diluted before application. As with all preparations,
check with your doctor before using if you are pregnant or nursing.
