Origin & History: Flaxseed Oil has been used all over the world for centuries.
Active Constituents: Alpha-Linolenic acid (Omega-3 Fatty acid).
Part Used: Seed.
Common Uses: Flaxseed oil is one of the richest sources of Alpha-Linolenic acid (Omega-3). It also contains
Alpha-Linoleic acid (Omega-6 ALA) another essential fatty acid. The essential nutrients must be obtained through
the diet and cannot be biosynthesized by the human body. These essential fatty acids are converted into EPA and
DHA, two well known compounds that are recognized for their benefits in heart health, brain function and arthritis.
Consumption of flaxseed oil may be extremely important for vegetarians and for people who do not eat fish. Role
of ALA in the prevention of arteriosclerosis has also been documented. Supplementation with essential fatty acids
decreases harmful LDL and increases favorable HDL.
Olympian Labs Flax Seed oil / High Lignans is certified organic, cold pressed, unrefined and GMO free. Lignans
are frequently considered as a type of fiber, but are most suitably considered as a type of phytoestrogen or a plant
compound with estrogen like activity.
