Spicy Toasted Nori Strips, , Toasted Sea Vegetable 12 x .47 oz Box/Case Description:
A delicious healthy snack made of thin strips of premium quality toasted nori sea vegetable that's coated with a delightful blend of seasonings. Known as 'ajitsuke' (aa-gee-sue-kay) nori in Japan. A great, mouth watering taste sensation; savory, salty, sweet, and spicy flavors. A zesty, light and crispy snack anytime of day or tasty garnish on food.
Nori cultivation is an intricate craft in that spore quality, water temperature, a pristine growing environment and proper drying methods are crucial to producing the best quality product. Eden's nori is cultivated in the traditional manner using a system of woven rope nets that are tied to bamboo poles and horizontally suspended in the bay. This intricate substratum is placed in the shallow bay in late September or early October. Over the autumn, winter and early spring months, with the coming in and out of the tide and the cooling of the water temperature, the nori spores attach to the netting and slowly develop into nori fronds or leaves. In spring the fully developed fronds are harvested at low tide by scraping the nori from the netting and taking it ashore. The nori is washed with pure water, chopped and placed in mixers before pressing onto frames lined with woven reed mats. After naturally sun drying the nori is transformed into lustrous, paper thin sheets of 'sushi quality' nori. The sheets are then oven toasted and lightly seasoned with a delicious blend of organic shoyu soy sauce, organic mirin sweet rice cooking wine, sea salt, kombu, shiitake mushrooms, and red chili pepper seasonings. The seasoned sheets are then cut into easy to eat individual serving strips.
