What is Healthy Veins?

In the human body, glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are key structural components necessary for maintaining the health and integrity of blood vessels.

Venous stasis and atony of venous circulation: varicose veins, hematomas, phlebitis, and chronically incompetent veins; cramps, heaviness and fatigue in the legs, particularly at the end of the day; painful veins during menstruation; hemorrhoids (piles); prevention and treatment of thrombosis and thrombophlebitis; edematous swelling of bruises, fractures, strokes and brain trauma; lymphoedema and lymphostasis; cold hands and feet.

What are varicose veins?
More than 40 million Americans have varicose veins, a term in Latin meaning twisted and wollen blood vessel. Although the condition is rarely disabling, it is disfiguring, causing discomfort and embarrassment to those afflicted.

many cases, genetic predisposition and gender determine who will develop varicose veins. A full 75% of Americans with the condition are women. At risk some women who may experience the beginning of this condition during pregnancy as the enlarging womb presses on the veins in the abdomen, increasing the pressure in the veins of the legs.

Age is another factor as the skin becomes less elastic, lessening vein support. Some individuals are genetically edisposed to a malfunction of the one-way valves that may cause a back low of blood to pool in super ficial veins, stretching and swelling them.

An all-natural formula containing herbal extracts that help improve the integrity and function of veins in the lower limbs should have the following:

Butcher's Broom:
helps increase the integrity of the tissue that supports the vein, which also helps improve the vein's function.

Gotu Kola:
decreases the capillary's permeability by reducing the number and size of pores in the capillary's walls, improving the tone.

Escin:
A natural plant compound from horse chestnut, has a long history of use in Europe. Escin has been shown to decrease capillary permeability by reducing the number and size of the pores, which improves tone.

Others include:

Collinsonia root:
The compounds in collinsonia root nutritionally support vascular tone.

Rutin:
This citrus flavonoid supports capillary and vein function.

Vitamin E:
Research suggests that vitamin E supports the veins by dilating the blood vessels and affecting blood-clotting mechanisms.
