What is Wart?

There are many different types of warts out in the world, yet all of them have something in common. All warts come from the same virus called the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). HPV is a strand of viruses that in some cases have been found to cause cancer in some animals. Many different strands in HPV cause different types of warts, like 6-11 strands cause genital warts. HPV is a widely known virus around the world to cause different types of sickness as well, but mainly HPV causes warts in humans.

Different types of wart:
There are many different types of warts out there, but there are four main types which are Common Warts, Genital Warts, Vaginal Warts, and Anal Warts. Common warts are just the basic kind of warts that can appear on the hands, body, and feet. Generally these warts are easy to be removed by a simple over the counter medicine like a cream.

Genital warts are warts around the genital area, like the penis, the vagina, and the anus. These types of warts are usually a little harder to get rid of, but the only way to transfer these types of warts from one-another is from sexual intercourse.

Vaginal warts are warts that appear around the Vagina of a woman. Vaginal warts are also only spread from direct contact with another infected person with genital warts, usually only from sexual intercourse. Anal warts are another type of genital warts all together, these type of warts show up around the anus of the infected person, and usually show up in clusters around the anus. Sometimes the anal warts can show up on the hole of the anus, and cluster up around the hole.

There are many different ways out there in which you can treat warts, many people like to use home remedies, and ways that they have known how to remove, and treat the warts.

There are only a few real good ways, that have been proven in medical study, that help to remove warts. There is a burning method many doctors use to remove warts, that almost always works in one visit to the doctor, this process is called Salicylic Acid. This method is the most widely used method in doctors alike, its quick, easy, and not painfull at all for the patient.

Another method alot of doctors used is called Cyrosurgery, this method freezes the warts off of the patients skin with no pain at all, and sometimes it actually feels good to use this method, that is if you like the cold weather. This is another widely used method by doctors worldwide, alot of people with warts prefer this method other then the burning method, because alot of people would rather have the freezing sensation then the burning.

There are also alot of different ways to prevent warts, in some rare cases some people dont even show that they have warts at all they might have the infection from the HPV, but there immune system is blocking the virus from showing the warts up on the skin. The best way to prevent you from getting the virus all together is to not have direct contact with someone that has already been infected by the virus.

Other methods of treatment:
After youve been to the doctor and been diagnosed with some type of human pappilloma virus (HPV) infection that has caused an outbreak of warts somewhere on your body, youll eventually get around to discussing the possible treatments.

From simple creams and lotions designed to shrink or remove the food supply from warts and cause them to die, to other, more sophisticated chemical solutions designed to burn them off, there are a variety of treatments available to the HPV sufferer today. It all depends on the location and severity of the outbreak.

Outside the body, on the hands or the feet is the simplest form of warts to treat and, usually creams and lotions applied throughout the day are enough to make them go away. If they persist through the simpler wart treatments, there are more powerful chemicals available that starve the wart of blood supply, oxygen or other vital support, which will ultimately cause it to die. In addition, there are medicines that trick the bodys immune system into attacking the wart itself and hopefully, succeed in killing it.

If all else fails, and the location or severity of the outbreak warrants it, there is cauterization of the warts, freezing them and ultimately removing them surgically.

At home, treatments usually begin with salicylic acid, which is readily available over the counter at your local pharmacy. This treatment is very effective, however, it can take several months to completely remove the offending warts, causing many to seek alternative wart treatment. Ultimately, home treatment, which can be as successful as any other form of wart treatment, is easier, less costly and less painful than many of the other choices.

For those who do not like the thought of putting anything with the word acid on or in their bodies, there is the tape occlusion method. In this case, you merely put a piece of tape over the wart and keep it there, starving the wart of oxygen and light that it needs to live and grow. This is a slow but usually effective method and many people who have tried it have reported successful results.

Finally, there is a brand of home freezing for wart removal that should be investigated thoroughly before trying. Essentially, the user takes two chemicals and sprays them together, holding the mixture, which reaches a very low temperature briefly, on the wart, freezing and killing it quickly. This method is not advised for children.
